About
My name is Shahrzad Beevis
/ʃɑrˈzæd/ (pronounced Sha-ahr-zard)
Hello, I'm Shahrzad - but I go by Shaz! I’m the Programme Leader and Lecturer for BSc Immersive Technologies and BSc Game Design & Development at the University of Winchester, where I teach game design, development, production and professional practice. I’m also a graduate of Winchester, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Computer Games Design & Development, graduating with First Class Honours.

Before retraining in games, I spent over a decade working professionally in other industries. That background strongly informs my teaching and practice, particularly around project management, communication, and working within real-world constraints. My technical focus is C# and Unity, alongside a strong interest in game design, world building, and production workflows. I work extensively with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and place particular emphasis on preparing students for industry-style pipelines and expectations.

I’m also a Women in Games Ambassador and am deeply committed to improving diversity and inclusion within the games industry - both in the stories we tell and the teams that create them.
Feel free to explore my work, and don’t hesitate to get in touch.
